Main difficulties in food in the elderly and the importance of nutritional intervention

Resumo: The aging process is a natural stage for humanity and requires a series of attentions aimed at providing health. The diet of an elderly person will determine the amount of energy, nutrients, disposition, among other criteria, so the intervention of a nutritionist is necessary for this distribution in an adequate way. To present the main difficulties that affect the nutrition of elderly people, as well as the need for nutritional information. The Integrative Literature Review was applied, through the choice of inclusion and exclusion criteria, in which the analysis of ten articles was delimited, published between the years 2016-2022, both with thematic relevance and published on the following platforms of research: SciELO, Google Escolar, LILACS, PUBMED, both works with thematic relevance. The third age presents the results of inadequate nutrition in a more serious way, it is possible to perceive the impact of malnutrition, tiredness, worsening of other diseases, it was found that adequate nutrition balances the body to assess the conditions that interfere in this nutritional process. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to stimulate and implement actions that contribute to the change of eating habits in the elderly and the frequent involvement of health professionals, especially home care.

A alimentação de um idoso vai determinar a quantidade de energia, nutrientes, disposição dentre outros critérios, por isso é necessária a intervenção de um nutricionista para essa distribuição de forma adequada. Apresentar as principais dificuldades que afetam a nutrição de pessoas idosas, bem como, a necessidade de informação nutricional. Aplicou-se a Revisão Integrativa da Literatura, através da escolha dos critérios de inclusão e exclusão, nas quais delimitou-se a análise de dez artigos, publicados entre os anos de 2016-2022, ambos com pertinência temática e publicados nas seguintes plataformas de pesquisa: SciELO, Google Escolar, LILACS, PUBMED, ambos os trabalhos com pertinência temática. A terceira idade apresenta de forma mais grave os resultados de uma nutrição inadequada, é possível perceber o impacto da desnutrição, do cansaço, agravamento de outras doenças, constatou-se que uma nutrição adequada equilibra o organismo de modo a avaliar as condições que interferem nesse processo nutricional.
