Resumo: This article approaches the foundation and development of the Baptist Church in the city of Três Lagoas. The first part presents a brief history of the city and startup of the first Protestant congregation in that region: the Baptist congregation. The second part discusses the relationship of Baptists and Catholics of the city. The third part points to the social contribution of Protestants for the development of Três Lagoas.

Na primeira parte, apresento um breve histórico da cidade e o início das atividades da primeira congregação protestante no lugar, a congregação batista. Na segunda parte, abordo a relação dos batistas com os católicos da cidade e, em um terceiro momento, aponto a contribuição social desses protestantes para o desenvolvimento de Três Lagoas.
