Symbolic interpretation in the process of the organizational change

Resumo: The organizational structure is built mainly through social relations that emerge from the blend of the individual identities and the confluence of expectations, values and visions of these with the objective organizational purpose. People, as participants of the organizational universe, become part of the organizational history, taking roles, sharing values and, through practices, rituals and symbols, they create and institutionalize a distinctive and idiosyncratic behavior that can manifest itself in moments of organizational change, influencing competitive performance of organization. In this paper we present ideas to this underlying process.

As pessoas, enquanto participantes do universo organizacional, passam a fazer parte da história, a assumir papéis, a compartilhar valores e, por meio das práticas, rituais e símbolos, criam e institucionalizam um comportamento característico e idiossincrático que pode se manifestar em momento de mudança organizacional, influenciando a sua capacidade competitiva.
