Paul's writings and the liquid modernity: a comparison between the addressees of Paul's letters and the postmodern man

This article deals with a discussion of the similarities of the religious behavior of the recipients of Paul's letters and the post-modern man. Based on the concept that "there is nothing new under the sun" (EC 1.9) and that man has the same concerns and patterns of religious behavior throughout history, the present work lists from the Pauline letters religious characteristics of human behavior during the first century and compares them with the religious behavior of the post-modern man. For this, we use authors who make a study of the Pauline writings and the cultural and religious context of the time. After, we use Bauman and his conception of liquid modernity, observing the concepts of religiosity of his theory. Finally, we conclude that there is in human patterns of religious behavior that keeps the passing centuries and that must be taken into account when developing efforts of preaching the gospel.
