Assessment of satisfaction at work: study in a company autoparts distributor

Summary: The present study aimed to analyze the degree of job satisfaction in the perception of the employees of an autoparts distributor located in the city of Francisco Beltrão - PR. The approach used for the study was quantitative, with descriptive research features. The technique used for the data collection was the survey. The sample consisted of 48 employees, who participated in the study, which corresponded to 80% of the existing population. The research instrument used in this study was based on the model validated as EST, elaborated by Siqueira (2008). Considering the results from the dimensions of the EST, it was found that in four dimensions: satisfaction with co-workers, satisfaction with management, satisfaction with the nature of work and satisfaction with promotions, the results suggest employee satisfaction. For the satisfaction dimension with wages, the results indicate a significant degree of dissatisfaction with the values ??they receive. The results presented significant correlations between the variables, in which it was analyzed that the general satisfaction has positive correlation and high intensity with most of the dimensions used in the study. It was also verified by means of hypothesis tests if there were differences between the variables or groups with the general satisfaction in the work. The results showed that there is no difference between general satisfaction with genders and marital status, but between general satisfaction and income range there is a difference of perception between the groups studied.

Esta pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa com características descritivas, tem como técnica utilizada para coleta de dados, o levantamento  (survey). A amostra foi constituída por 48 funcionários, os quais participaram do estudo, o que correspondeu a 80% da população existente. O instrumento de pesquisa utilizado nesse estudo foi baseado no modelo validado como EST, elaborado por Siqueira (2008). Considerando os resultados a partir das dimensões da EST verificou-se que em quatro dimensões: satisfação com os colegas de trabalho, satisfação com a chefia, satisfação com a natureza do trabalho e satisfação com as promoções; os resultados sugerem a satisfação dos funcionários. Para a dimensão satisfação com salários, os resultados apontam um significativo grau de insatisfação com os valores que recebem. Os resultados apresentaram correlações significativas entre as variáveis, nas quais analisou que a satisfação geral tem correlação positiva e intensidade alta com a maioria das dimensões utilizadas no estudo. Verificou-se ainda por meio de testes de hipóteses se haviam diferenças entre as variáveis ou grupos com a satisfação geral no trabalho.
