Resumo: We, at Brazilian Business Review – BBR, believe that every research project, at the same time as it clarifies certain doubts, also generates others. More than a point of arrival, it creates a starting point for new investigations. Within this context we know that BBR depends, fundamentally, on the evaluations of its reviewers as a key component for the quality control of what is published. The review of pair of articles is, although not perfect, vital for the knowledge production process. We recognize that a critical point for good reviews is the motivation of reviewers. Undeniably, the review of articles is a time consuming and onerous activity, however, when properly conducted, it represents an important act of altruism and source of satisfaction. For all these reasons, we have a debt of gratitude to our reviewers, and to all those who participate in the execution of this activity. And, in our search for stimulus to continuously improve BBR, as of 2011 we will be annually recognizing the best review works. The winners, in addition to certificates, will receive special treatment (Fast Track) in the submission of their articles to BBR and will have their names publicly mentioned on the magazine’s website. The evaluation of the review works will be performed by the associate editors, and the selection criteria will consider aspects such as: i) on-time submission; ii) quality and completeness of the review and iii) constructivity. The award-winning reviewers will be publicly named in the last issue of the year. In the first issue of 2011 we present six new instigating articles to the scientific community. The first work is authored by Maurício José Serpa Barros de Moura, Rodrigo de Losso da Silveira Bueno, Helena Wagner P. Rocha, Patricia Morilha Muritiba and Sérgio Nunes Muritiba. In this article, the competent authors dedicate themselves to the analysis of the ethical behavior of productive micro credit agents, a credit modality that offers smaller amounts of funds to the low-income public. The results show that the importance given by the agent to his/her job and his/her individual sensitivity to deny credit may influence his/her ethical behavior. The next work, by Ernesto Michelangelo Giglio, presents the logical, theoretical and methodological arguments that support a network theory proposal for networks that include the consumer as an active agent. The article represents a theoretical and methodological contribution with the inclusion of the consumer in the networks. The third article is authored by Eurilton Alves Araújo Júnior. The work investigates the optimized discretionary monetary policies as an extension of the new basic Keynesian model, which incorporates the taxation of interest revenue, focusing on the effect of the changes in interest revenue rates on macroeconomic volatility. This relevant study indicates that high taxation levels increase the volatility of inflation, of the production gap, and the unconditional expectations of the loss function of the Central Bank. In the fourth article of this issue, Palloma Rodrigues de Andrade and Helen Cristian Rodrigues Araujo explore a current and highly interesting subject. According to the authors, the private Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs) are facing a crisis that derives, mostly, from the stabilization of demand and from the drop in revenues, which represent management-related challenges. The study contributes to a better understanding of the behavior of individuals in their choice of educational services, by performing a psychographic segmentation. The results contribute to the development of specific educational marketing actions. Ronaldo Barbosa de Souza and José Edson Lara are the authors of the fifth work. In a very provocative article, the authors analyze the pharmaceutical retail market. The antiquated strategy that considered localization as the main source of competitive advantage has been corroded in these present days, and the image aspects of the store emerge with the real possibility of differentiation for the increasingly demanding client. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the impact of store image for drugstores. In the last article, Ana Heloisa da Costa Lemos, Veranise Jacubowski Correia Dubeux and Mario Couto Soares Pinto, in a work worthy of attention, discuss the pertinence of two suppositions related to the impact of education in the professional insertion of its detainers: the study by Bourdieu (1988), which questions the relationship between professional qualification and insertion in the work market and the theory of human capital (SCHULTZ,1967); The results obtained endorse the assumption of Schultz regarding the importance of education. Mais do que um ponto de chegada, põe-se um ponto de partida para novas indagações. Nesse contexto sabemos que a BBR depende, fundamentalmente, das avaliações de seus revisores como um componente chave para o controle de qualidade do que é publicado. A revisão de pares de artigos é, apesar de imperfeita, fulcral para o processo de produção do conhecimento. Reconhecemos que um ponto critico para boas revisões é a motivação dos revisores. Inegavelmente, a revisão de artigos é uma atividade consumidora de tempo e onerosa, entretanto, quando conduzida adequadamente, ela representa um importante ato de desprendimento e fonte de satisfação.   Por tudo isso temos um débito de gratidão aos nossos bons revisores, e todos aqueles que se empenham na realização dessa atividade. Na busca do estímulo à contínua melhoria da BBR, estaremos a partir de 2011 premiando anualmente os melhores trabalhos de revisão. Os vencedores, além do recebimento de certificados, receberão tratamento especial  (Fast Track) na submissão dos seus artigos à BBR e terão os seus nomes citados publicamente no site da revista. A avaliação dos trabalhos de revisão será efetuada pelos editores associados, e os critérios da seleção levarão em conta aspectos como: i) cumprimento de prazos; ii)  qualidade e complenitude da revisão e iii) construtividade. Os revisores premiados serão identificados na última edição do ano. Nesta primeira edição de 2011 apresentamos mais seis artigos instigantes a comunidade científica. O primeiro trabalho desta edição é da autoria de Maurício José Serpa Barros de Moura, Rodrigo de Losso da Silveira Bueno, Helena Wagner  P. Rocha,  Patricia Morilha Muritiba e Sérgio Nunes Muritiba.  Neste artigo, os competentes autores dedicam-se a analisar o comportamento ético dos agentes de microcrédito produtivo, modalidade de crédito que oferta quantias menores de dinheiro para o público de baixa renda. Os resultados mostram que a importância dada pelo agente ao seu emprego e sua sensibilidade individual a negar crédito podem ter influências sobre seu comportamento ético. Na seqüência o trabalho de Ernesto Michelangelo Giglio apresenta os argumentos lógicos, teóricos e metodológicos que sustentam uma proposta de teoria de redes que incluem o consumidor como ator ativo. O artigo representa uma contribuição teórica e metodológica com a inclusão do consumidor nas redes. O terceiro artigo é de autoria de Eurilton Alves Araújo Júnior. O trabalho investiga as políticas monetárias discricionárias otimizadas como extensão do novo modelo básico Keynesiano, o qual incorpora tributação da receita de juros, focando no efeito das mudanças na alíquota da receita de juros sobre a volatilidade macroeconômica. A relevante pesquisa aponta que altos níveis de tributação aumentam a volatilidade da inflação, do gap de produção, e as expectativas incondicionais da função de perda do Banco Central. No quarto artigo desta edição, Palloma Rodrigues de Andrade e Helen Cristian Rodrigues Araujo, exploram tema atual e muito  interessante. Segundo as autoras,  as instituições de ensino superior (IES) privadas enfrentam uma crise derivada, em grande parte, da estabilização da demanda e pela queda de receitas, que representam desafios relacionados à gestão. A pesquisa realizada contribui para conhecer melhor o comportamento dos indivíduos na escolha por serviços em educação, realizando-se uma segmentação psicográfica. Os resultados contribuem para o desenvolvimento de ações específicas de marketing educacional. Ronaldo Barbosa de Souza e José Edson Lara são os autores do quinto trabalho nesta edição. Num artigo muito provocativo analisa-se o mercado varejistas farmacêutico.  A estratégia outrora de considerar a localização como principal fonte de vantagem competitiva, tem sido corroída nesses tempos atuais, e as questões de imagem de loja emergem com possibilidade real de diferenciação para os clientes cada vez mais exigentes. O objetivo do  estudo foi avaliar o impacto da imagem de loja para uma farmácia. No último artigo desta edição,  Ana Heloisa da Costa Lemos, Veranise Jacubowski Correia Dubeux e Mario Couto Soares Pinto, em trabalho digno de atenção,  discutem a pertinência de duas suposições acerca do impacto da educação na inserção profissional de seus possuidores: o estudo de Bourdieu (1988), que questiona a relação entre qualificação profissional e inserção no mercado de trabalho, e a  teoria do capital humano (SCHULTZ,1967);  Os resultados obtidos endossam o pressuposto de Schultz sobre a importância da educação.
