Elite level teachers’ labor regulation

Resumo: | This paper approaches an assessment system that has been frequently used in Argentina as well as in a global scale, via implementation of the International Baccalaureate Program. The following pages develop their characterization as a teaching proposal favored by some schools meant to educate members of the elite sector. Concurrently, we analyze how said program effects teachers’s labor organization. By doing so, we aim at closing the gap between the teaching work carried out by “elite level teachers” as well-settled figures and the symbolic work of producing the educational acclaim of those groups. We also review how that proposal imposes new regulations on teaching, by resorting to post-bureaucratic means of regulation presented in the schools that embody the internationalization of education dynamics. |

Estas páginas desarrollan su caracterización como propuesta pedagógica que privilegian algunas escuelas orientadas a la formación de sectores de elite, y se analizan los efectos que dicho programa produce en la organización del trabajo de los profesores. Así, procuramos una aproximación a la labor pedagógica desempeñada por los “docentes de la elite” en tanto fi guras consustanciadas con el trabajo simbólico de producir la consagración escolar de estos grupos. También se revisa el modo en que esta propuesta impone nuevas regulaciones sobre el trabajo de enseñar, a través de modos de regulación pos-burocráticos que se presentan em estas escuelas signadas por las dinámicas de internacionalización de la educación.O artigo aborda um sistema de exames que tem sido aplicado com frequência na Argentina e em escala global, através da implantação do Programa International Baccalaureate. Estas páginas desenvolvem sua caracterização como proposta pedagógica privilegiada por algumas escolas destinadas à formação de setores de elite, ao mesmo tempo em que são analisados os efeitos que esse programa produz na organização do trabalho dos professores. Dessa forma, procuramos uma aproximação do trabalho pedagógico desempenhado pelos “professores da elite” como figuras consubstanciadas com o trabalho simbólico de produzir a consagração escolar desses grupos.
