Teaching of didactics and learning about teaching during initial teacher training

Resumo: The article presents results of a study that aimed to analyze the current state of the teaching of didactics in teaching certification programs, and its contribution to the process of preparing the teaching professional. The theoretical framework is developed based on Roldão, Shulman, Gauthier, Cochran-Smith and Lytle. The methodology used involved: a curricular analysis developed for the programs investigated; a questionnaire applied to the students that had completed approximately 70% of the curriculum; and, the creation of four discussion groups. The results indicate greater political, rather than methodological, emphasis in the teaching of didactics, expressed in the topics covered, in the course given and in the relationship with the teacher-trainer. The need for teaching focused on the public schools, on basic education and on the teaching profession is evident.

El marco teórico se elaboró en base a Roldão, Shulman, Gauthier, Cochran-Smith y Lytle. Metodológicamente, se desarrolló un análisis curricular de los cursos investigados; se aplicó un cuestionario a los estudiantes que siguieron cerca del 70% del currículo; y se realizaron cuatro grupos de discusión. Los resultados indican mayor énfasis político que metodológico en la enseñanza de didáctica, que se expresó en los temas trabajados, en la clase realizada y en la relación con el profesor formador. Se manifiesta la necesidad de una enseñanza centrada en la escuela pública, en la educación básica y en el trabajo docente.Cet article présente les résultats d’une recherche dont l’objectif était d’analyser l’état actuel de l’enseignement de la didactique dans les cours de licence et de saisir comment cette dernière contribue au processus de formation professionnelle des enseignants. Le cadre théorique se base sur les travaux de Roldão, Shulman, Gauthier, Cochran-Smith et Lytle. la méthodologie adoptée a consisté en: une analyse des programmes des cours concernés; un questionnaire soumis aux étudiants ayant suivi environ 70% du programme; et l’organisation de quatre groupes de discussion. Les résultats indiquent que l’enseignement de la didactique est plus lié à une question politique que méthodologique. Ceci s’exprime à travers les thèmes abordés, pendant les cours et dans la relation avec ’enseignantformateur. Cette étude met en évidence la nécessité d’un enseignement plus centré sur l’école publique, sur l’éducation de base et sur le travail enseignant.O artigo apresenta resultados de uma pesquisa que teve por objetivo analisar o estado atual do ensino de didática em cursos de licenciatura e sua contribuição para o processo de constituição profissional docente.
