Clinical-critical method and ethnography in research regarding social knowledge

Resumo: The paper points out the importance of understanding children´s constructions in the context of social relations that are produced and updated in everyday interactions. In this regard we will analyse the different (methodological and conceptual) contributions of anthropology and psychogenetic theory to the research of children´s social knowledge. We will argue that it is possible to build an approach that links both disciplinary fields. We will review the core characteristics of the clinical critical method and ethnography with the aim of stressing their potencialities as well as their limitations for  the research. Furthermore we will argue that this method must be resignified within the basic premises of social anthropology.

Con este fin, se analizarán las contribuciones metodológicas y conceptuales de la antropología y la teoría psicogenética,  y  se  argumentará  que  es  posible  construir  un  abordaje  que articule aspectos trabajados en ambos campos disciplinares. Se revisarán las características centrales del método clínico-crítico y de la etnografía, destacando sus potencialidades y límites. Aquí se hará hincapié en la utilización de entrevistas. A su vez, se sostendrá que, dentro de una aproximación etnográfica, es necesario resignificar el método clínico de acuerdo con los presupuestos antropológicos. O artigo destaca a importância de compreender os conhecimentos sociais das crianças, situando  suas  construções  nas  relações  sociais  que  se  reproduzem e atualizam nas práticas cotidianas. Com essa finalidade são analisadas as contribuições metodológicas e conceituais da antropologia e da teoria psicogenética, e se argumentará que é possível construir uma abordagem que articule aspectos trabalhados em ambos os campos disciplinares. Serão revisadas as características centrais do método clínico-crítico e da etnografia, destacando suas potencialidades e limites por meio de entrevistas.
