Quality of Administration Courses and Higher Education Institutions in Joinville - SC: a study on factors related to job market awareness of students

Resumo: | In a market of competitive higher education as it is the case of Brazil, to possess a quality image has been fundamental to attract and to keep students in a Higher Education Institution (HEI). This study aimed to determine the quality of administration courses and of HEIs that are offered in Joinville, SC, as for aspects related to the job market. For the accomplishment of the study, studies that treat of the quality in educational organizations, meeting 6 attributes that measure the quality of a course and of a HEI as for factors related to the job market were searched. Afterwards, it was conducted a quantitative-descriptive research close to the graduates in two of five HEI that offer the graduation in administration in Joinville, SC. A questionnaire was applied structured not disguised, with closed questions to 292 graduates of these two HEIs. With the collected data, these graduates were characterized and were identified the attributes of better and worse performances as the quality of these courses and HEIs only considering linked attributes to the job market. We have also found the attributes that most contribute to the perception of quality of a course and of an institution in the students' vision, when related to factor linked to the job market. The courses and HEIs have been well evaluated in terms of quality for the labor market, and the reputation of the courses and of HEIs is the attribute of better performance according to the students. Cuando el mercado de la educación superior es competitivo, como lo es en Brasil, tener una imagen de calidad es fundamental para atraer y retener alumnos en una institución de Educación Superior (IES). Este estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar la calidad de los cursos de administración y de IES que se ofrecen en Joinville, SC, en lo que se refiere a aspectos relacionados con el mercado de trabajo. Para realizar el estudio, se buscaron estudios sobre la calidad en organizaciones educacionales y se encontraron 6 atributos que miden la calidad de un curso y de una IES en lo que se refiere a factores relacionados con el mercado del trabajo. Seguidamente, se realizó una investigación cuantitativa descriptiva con los graduandos en dos de las cinco IES que ofrecen graduación en administración en Joinville, SC. Se aplicó a 292 graduandos de esas dos IES un cuestionario estructurado no disfrazado, con preguntas cerradas. Con los datos recopilados, se catalogaron estos graduandos y se identificaron los atributos de mejor y peor desempeño en lo referente a la calidad de estos cursos y de las IES, considerándose solamente los atributos relacionados con el mercado del trabajo. Se encontraron también los atributos que más contribuyen a la percepción de la calidad de un curso y de una institución en la visión de los alumnos, cuando se trata de factores relacionados con el mercado del trabajo. Los cursos y las IES fueron bien evaluados en lo que se refiere a calidad para el mercado del trabajo, siendo que la reputación de los cursos y de las IES es el atributo de mejor desempeño según los alumnos. Em um mercado de ensino superior competitivo, como é o caso do Brasil, possuir uma imagem de qualidade tem sido fundamental para atrair e reter alunos em uma Instituição de Ensino Superior (IES). Este estudo objetivou determinar a qualidade de cursos de administração e das IES que o oferecem em Joinville, SC, em relação aos aspectos ligados ao mercado de trabalho. Para a realização do estudo, buscaram-se estudos que tratam da qualidade em organizações educacionais, encontrando-se 6 atributos que medem a qualidade de um curso e de uma IES quanto a fatores relacionados ao mercado de trabalho. Em seguida, realizou-se uma pesquisa quantitativa-descritiva junto aos alunos formandos em duas das cinco IES que oferecem a graduação em administração em Joinville, SC. Aplicou-se um questionário estruturado não disfarçado, com perguntas fechadas, junto a 292 formandos dessas duas IES. Com os dados coletados, caracterizaram-se estes formandos e identificaram-se os atributos de melhor e pior desempenho quanto à qualidade desses cursos e IES, somente considerando atributos ligados ao mercado de trabalho. Encontraram-se também os atributos que mais contribuem para a percepção de qualidade de um curso e de uma instituição, na visão dos alunos, quando se trata de fatores ligados ao mercado de trabalho. Os cursos e as IES foram bem avaliados em termos de qualidade para o mercado de trabalho, sendo que a reputação dos cursos e das IES é o atributo de melhor desempenho segundo os alunos.
