Resumo: The Work of Getulio is the name of a book that was intended to celebrate the tenth anniversary of president Getulio Vargas' administration in 1940, but has never been published. Yet, its lay-out, with a set of photographs, was found in the private collection of former minister of Education and Health, Gustavo Capanema. This article follows the project's development, inserting it in the context of State action propaganda of the period. The specificity of the book, in its effort to convey, through photographic images, a new idea of the nation and the regime, is also stressed.

Este artigo segue o desenvolvimento do projeto, inserindo-o no contexto da propaganda de ação estatal do período.
