Resumo: Reflecting about the role of images in historical research can be an interesting approach, specially in a publication bringing together researchers from different backgrounds. It also opens up a possibility to think about different practices and understand their circumstances. With this in mind, the article aims at presenting elements for a reflection on images produced about the 1889 Paris exhibition. keywords: exhibition; celebration; memory.
