Resumo: | This article about a political use of History analyses the chronology - from 1500 to 1889 - figured on Amoedo gallery in Itamaraty as an official version of Brazilian History, structured on a narrative that values political-military facts. It puts in historical context the ordering, in 1906, of the artwork by summing up the foreign policy of Rio Branco, Amoedo’s career and the historical view of the minister. Editora FGV2010-12-17info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.fgv.br/reh/article/view/3227Revista Estudos Históricos; Vol. 23 No. 46 (2010): National States and Globalization; 281-300Revista Estudos Históricos; v. 23 n. 46 (2010): Estados Nacionais e Globalização; 281-3002178-14940103-2186reponame:Estudos Históricos (Rio de Janeiro)instname:Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV)instacron:FGVporhttps://periodicos.fgv.br/reh/article/view/3227/2104Conduru, Guilherme Frazãoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2017-06-14T20:53:56Zoai:ojs.periodicos.fgv.br:article/3227Revistahttps://periodicos.fgv.br/rehONGhttps://periodicos.fgv.br/reh/oai||biblioteca.digital@fgv.br||eh@fgv.br2178-14940103-2186opendoar:2024-03-06T13:01:51.409735Estudos Históricos (Rio de Janeiro) - Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV)true |
