Digital congress in focus: a monitoring of Congress representatives on Facebook

The study focused on the activities of federal deputies and senators on Facebook, analyzing prominent topics and key players from February 1 to October 31, 2023. This analysis was a continuation of a previous study, The Digital Congress in Campaign , which investigated the issues discussed by federal deputies elected during the first round of the 2022 elections. In turn, this investigation monitored the topics mobilized by these key players as they perform their role as elected representatives. The study analyzed around 213 thousand posts, enabling an understanding of the agendas mobilized by each representative throughout 2022 and of the prominence given to each political player, party, and caucus in Congress. The findings showed that, while government representatives published more posts, there was a notable protagonism of the opposition and the center in terms of engagement.
