Resumo: In the face of the current scenario of constant environmental degradation, it is recommended in Environmental Education that sensitize the student to the preservation and conservation of environmental heritage, minimizing future permanent damage. Thus, the present article discusses the aspects of environmental legislation with the perspective of becoming a parameter of teaching and learning in the school context. From a documentary and bibliographical analysis, the work describes the historical trajectory of the elaboration of Brazilian laws for specific purposes and considers the pedagogical work in the classroom as a crucial tool in this process. Starting from that study, stands out the importance of this teaching is emphasized for the full training of reflexive, critical students with an environmentalist stance.

Sendo assim, o presente artigo tem por objetivo discutir os aspectos da legislação ambiental com a perspectiva de se tornar um parâmetro para o ensino e aprendizagem no contexto escolar.
