Resumo: | Medicinal plants are a part of biodiversity widely used in many ways since the dawn of civilization. The use of medicinal herbs encompasses popular knowledge, which is consistent with the essential preparation care, as well as with the effects on the organism and the beneficial action to achieve an immediate cure for the disease. The aim of this study was to evaluate the knowledge and the use of medical plants by university students from the municipality of Quixadá, Ceará, Brazil. This survey was carried out from March to May of 2019. A structured form was applied to a hundred students, but five of them refused to participate. Thus, only the results of the other 95 were collected. They mentioned forty species, 70% of which were exotic species. The leaf was cited as the most used part of the plant. The preparation method that stood out was the infusion, which refers to tea. Therefore, this ethnobotanical survey allowed us to verify that the academic community still has knowledge in relation to medicinal plants, and use them as natural products in order to treat diseases, symptoms, or for aesthetic purposes. |

Centro de Inovação em Biodiversidade e Saúde - Farmanguinhos/Fiocruz2022-09-30info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdftext/htmltext/xmlhttps://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/article/view/124510.32712/2446-4775.2022.1245Revista Fitos; Vol. 16 No. 3 (2022); 335-345Revista Fitos; Vol. 16 Núm. 3 (2022); 335-345Revista Fitos; v. 16 n. 3 (2022); 335-3452446-47751808-9569reponame:Revista Fitosinstname:Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (FIOCRUZ)instacron:FIOCRUZporhttps://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/article/view/1245/1072https://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/article/view/1245/1073https://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/article/view/1245/1164Copyright (c) 2022 Revista Fitosinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessBandeira, Isabela BarrosVandesmet, Lilian Cortez Sombra2022-09-30T21:16:59Zoai:ojs.revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br:article/1245Revistahttps://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/PUBhttp://revistafitos.far.fiocruz.br/index.php/revista-fitos/oairevistafitos@far.fiocruz.br || eugenio.telles@far.fiocruz.br2446-47752446-4775opendoar:2022-09-30T21:16:59Revista Fitos - Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (FIOCRUZ)false |
