Resumo: The Handbook of Patients' Rights, written by Professor Dr. Aline Albuquerque, presents an unprecedented topic dealing with patients' rights as a new branch of law. It provides a historical analysis of patients' rights and criticizes the lack of specific Brazilian legislation on the subject, as well as litigation in the care context. Aline Albuquerque, es presentar un tema sin precedentes, que trata de los Derechos del Paciente como una nueva rama legal. Se realiza un análisis histórico y críticas sobre la ausencia de legislación brasileña específica sobre el tema y sobre la litigación en el contexto asistencial. Además, se enumeran los derechos antes mencionados y se abordan temas como la autonomía, la capacidad, la toma de decisiones, el consentimiento informado, las voluntades anticipadas, la seguridad del paciente, la justicia restaurativa, el Defensor del Pueblo y las medidas restrictivas. Todos los temas son de profundidad, con didáctica, lo que confirma la excelencia del trabajo. La lectura del libro es fundamental para estudiantes y profesionales del campo de la salud y el derecho, así como para aquellos interesados en proteger los derechos del paciente.  Trata-se de resenha do Manual de Direito do Paciente, livro de autoria da Professora Dra.
