Resumo: At the end of 2019, the world was surprised by a viral outbreak caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus causing COVID-19, recognized as a pandemic by the WHO in early 2020. In some cases, COVID-19 evolves with an unsatisfactory prognosis, causing severe respiratory syndrome and coagulation disorders, often requiring the patient to be admitted to an intensive care unit (ICU) and use polytherapy. In this context, the present study aims to identify the most prevalent drugs in prescriptions and assess their possible drug interactions (pharmacokinetic and/or pharmacodynamic). This is a retrospective cross-sectional observational study, with data collected from medical records of patients admitted from June 25 to August 25, 2021, in the intensive care unit (ICU) of a private hospital in Campos dos Goytacazes. The surveyed data revealed a higher rate of hospitalization of male patients, aged over 60 years, and mainly affected by DM and SAH. The most frequent potential drug interactions found were those classified as being of important severity, with pharmacokinetic interactions being the most prevalent.
