Resumo: Objective: To analyze mortality rates and the distribution of morbidity and Drug interactions (IM) occur when the effects of a drug are altered through the concomitant or previous administration of another drug, one of the most important topics in clinical pharmacology. Thus, there is a need for greater knowledge of the health team in relation to the subject of drug-drug interactions. This study aimed to systematically review the evidence available in the literature on the importance of the role of the Clinical Pharmacist in the prevention of drug interactions and the impact they cause in the hospital environment. A study was carried out following the Prisma Statement (Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis), using an analytical, exploratory and descriptive methodology, using the following scientific bases were consulted: PubMed, electronic library Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Google Scholar, Virtual Health Library - VHL/BIREME. The research was developed during the period from August to September 2020 by articles published from 2000 to 2020. For this purpose, the following inclusion criteria were applied: articles published and indexed between the years 2000 to 2020, in English, Portuguese. Duplicate studies were excluded. Of a total of 53 articles found, 10 were included for analysis. Most studies were published in 2009, 2013 and 2015, the predominant study design was cross-sectional, the Micromedex ® database was the most used to categorize interactions and tramadol and metoclopramide was the most frequently reported MI in the studies. The profile of the studies in this review can guide future work that, ideally, should investigate and measure the impact of potential drug interactions on patients and, with this, develop strategies to prevent them and work for the safe and rational use of drugs, through the Clinical Pharmacist.
