IMPACT OF SOCIAL ISOLATION DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC ON CHILDREN

Resumo: | Introduction: In March 2020 the COVID-19 pandemic began, and social isolation has been a measure of great comparison in the fight against this new pathology. However, the mental and physical health of the general population not satisfied, however, for children is even worse, as they are growing up and all of this has directly affected cognitive and social development. Objective: To understand the consequences caused by social isolation in children's lives, thus being able to collaborate with parents and educators in a better way to face them. Development: With the emergence of the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended several sanitary measures, they, social isolation, use of masks, closing schools and schools. However, social isolation has constantly affected the development of children, resulting in psychological changes, learning difficulties, social withdrawal, obesity and increased time in front of screens. Furthermore, in unfavorable family environments, the chances of child abuse increase according to the longer exposure of children to their aggressors. Conclusion: The negative points of social isolation for child development are evident, requiring an effort by family members and educational institutions to try to reduce its impacts. |

Porém, a saúde mental e física da população no geral ficaram comprometidas, contudo, para as crianças é ainda pior, uma vez que estão em crescimento e tudo isso afetou diretamente o desenvolvimento cognitivo e social. Objetivo: Entender as consequências provocadas pelo isolamento social na vida das crianças, dessa forma poder colaborar com pais e educadores uma melhor maneira de enfrenta-las. Desenvolvimento: Com o surgimento do novo coronavírus (SARS-CoV-2) a Organização Mundial de Saúde (OMS) recomendou diversas medidas sanitárias, dentre elas, o isolamento social, uso de máscaras, fechamento de escolas e universidades. Entretanto, o isolamento social afetou de forma significativa o desenvolvimento das crianças, repercutindo com alterações psicológicas, dificuldades de aprendizagem, retração social, obesidade e aumento do tempo frente as telas. Além disso, em ambientes familiares desfavoráveis aumentam as chances de abuso infantil pelo maior tempo de exposição das crianças aos seus agressores.
