O ENSINO DE CIÊNCIAS NATURAIS NO CURRÍCULO DA ESCOLA NORMAL: TRAJETÓRIA INICIAL / TEACHING NATURAL SCIENCES IN NORMAL SCHOOL CURRICULUM: INITIAL TRAJECTORY

O objetivo deste artigo é resgatar aspectos históricos relativos à implantação do ensino de Ciências Naturais, no currículo do Curso de Formação de Professores oferecido pela Escola Normal brasileira. Para isto foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica e documental tendo como parâmetros a legislação específica, as matrizes curriculares e os programas de disciplinas, para uma compreensão das especificidades da área. Manifestações em prol da inclusão de disciplinas de Ciências Naturais no ensino Normal emergem no último quanto do século XIX, em meio à difusão do positivismo, darwinismo e materialismo. Em alguns currículos são citadas disciplinas como: Elementos de Cosmografia; Noções de Física, Química, História Natural; Elementos de Ciências Física e Naturais, e de Fisiologia e Higiene; Rudimentos de Física, Química, Botânica, Zoologia e Cosmografia e Higiene. Sem uma formação didático-pedagógica específica, os docentes eram profissionais que tinham profundos conhecimentos dos conteúdos da área. Por outro lado, as atividades experimentais demonstrativas foram introduzidas a partir do final do século XIX, em um ambiente de intensas e riquíssimas discussões dos ideais liberais e positivistas e de difusão das Ciências Naturais.  Palavras-Chave: Escola Normal. Formação de Professores.    ABSTRACT The main purpose of this article is to rescue historical aspects concerning to the implantation of the Natural Science teaching  in the curriculum of the Course offered by the  Normal brazilian School. It was realized for this a bibliographical and documents research based on specific  legislation as parameters, the curriculum matrices, disciplines and programs, to understanding the specifics of the area was conducted. Discussions demanding the inclusion of the teaching of Natural Science subjects in Normal School began in the last quarter of the XIX century, among the diffusion of positivism, Darwinism and materialism, Cosmography Elements; Physics; elementary Physics; Chemistry; Natural History; Elements of Natural and Physics Science; and the Physiology and Hygiene. Without specific didactic-pedagogic formation, docents were professionals that had a deep knowledge on the subjects of the area. On the other hand, the demonstatives experimental activities were introduced at the end of XIX century, when normal schools of the most important provinces acquired the called Cabinets of Physics, Chemistry and Natural History. The Normal School was transformed, at the of XIX century, in an environment of intense discussions of the liberal and positivists ideals and of diffusion of Naturals Sciences.   Keywords: Normal School.
