O morar e o trabalhar na mesma comunidade marca a singularidade do exercício da profissão do Agente Comunitário de Saúde, que, mesmo tirando a farda, não deixa de exercer o seu trabalho. Essa constante proximidade com o ambiente de trabalho afeta e é afetada por ele, produzindo efeitos positivos ou negativos na saúde do trabalhador. A pesquisa objetivou analisar a relação entre a afetividade e o ambiente de trabalho dos agentes comunitários de saúde (ACS) do município de Timon (MA), além de compreender o significado da afetividade e sua influência no desenvolvimento do trabalho do ACS; identificar os sentimentos e os afetos potencializadores ou despotencializadores atribuídos pelos ACS ao seu ambiente de trabalho. Os principais referenciais teóricos foram os estudos sobre trabalho, afetividade e psicologia ambiental. O Instrumento Gerador dos Mapas Afetivos e a entrevista em profundidade foram os procedimentos metodológicos utilizados para a coleta de dados, cuja análise foi realizada por meio da Análise de Conteúdo Categorial. Os sujeitos da pesquisa foram vinte e dois agentes comunitários de saúde, da zona urbana e rural. Os resultados permitiram identificar os significados e sentimentos atribuídos ao ambiente do trabalho; conhecer os afetos potencializadores ou despotencializadores, e compreender a relação existente entre a afetividade e o desempenho da ocupação profissional. Palavras-chave: Afetividade. Atenção Básica. ABSTRACT  The live and work in the same community marks the uniqueness of the profession of community health agent, even taking the uniform does not cease to exercise their work. This constant contact with the work environment affects and is affected by it, producing positive or negative effects on workers' health. The research sought to examine the relationship between affectivity and the working environment of community health workers in the city of Timon (MA), in addition to understanding the meaning of affectivity and its influence on the development of the community health workers; to identify the potentializing or de-potentializing feelings and affections attributed by the community health workers to their work environment. The main theoretical references were the studies on work, affectivity and environmental psychology. Generator Instrument of Affective maps and in-depth interviews were the methodological procedures used for data collection, whose analysis was done through Categorical Content Analysis. The study subjects were twenty-two community health workers, the urban and rural areas. The results identify the meanings and feelings attributed to the work environment, meet the augmentative or disempowering emotions and understand the relationship between affectivity and the performance of occupation. Keywords:  Affectivity.
