Resumo: In this article the authors seek to emphasize the enormous challenges related to mining, conservation and care of several documents in many different ways deal with the reality in schools. Document within the meaning of Le Goff that first and foremost is the result of an assembly (consciously or not) of a given society. Which removes, maintains, preserves, which handles, even by silence. Thus, dialogue with history, museology and other related areas, using as theoretical support, authors such as Le Goff, Ginzburg, Pesez, Vina, Julia, Meneses, Bruno, Chagas and Cury, we discuss the importance of public policy preservation of collections at school; conservation and cataloging of these documents, the nature and potential for research in the field of education.

Documento en el sentido de Le Goff que en primer lugar, es el resultado de un conjunto (conscientemente o no) de una sociedad dada. Que elimina, mantiene, conserva, que se encarga, incluso por el silencio. Por lo tanto, el diálogo con la historia, la museología y otras áreas relacionadas, utilizando como soporte teórico, autores como Le Goff, Ginzburg, Pesez, Viña, Julia, Meneses, Bruno, Chagas y Cury, se discute la importancia de la preservación de las colecciones de las políticas públicas en la escuela, la conservación y catalogación de estos documentos, la naturaleza y el potencial de investigación en el campo de la educación.Neste artigo os autores procuram salientar os enormes desafios relativos a garimpagem, conservação e cuidado de diversos documentos que das mais diversas formas tratam da realidade escolar. Documento na acepção de Le Goff que antes de mais nada é resultado de uma montagem (consciente ou não) de uma determinada sociedade. Que elimina, mantém, preserva, que manipula, ainda que pelo silêncio.
