Resumo: | The research with a qualitative approach has consisted in a field study realized in a municipal children’s education (CMEI) center localized in Natal/RN, aiming to comprehend the expressions of social and environmental autonomy present in the school reality of children’s education by means of free activities. To consolidate this obtained data we have realized observations and records of the school routine in order to verify the perceptions and conceptions of the social and environmental autonomy expressions of the students. Thus, this research has revealed that the CMEI provides a favorable environment to the development of the student’s autonomy and when this autonomy is experienced the student has the tendency to fully develop himself. |

Con el objetivo de comprender las expresiones de autonomía socioambiental que se manifiestan en el ámbito escolar de la educación infantil a través de actividades gratuitas. Para consolidar los datos construidos, se realizaron registros y observaciones de la rutina escolar con el fin de verificar las percepciones y concepciones de las expresiones socioambientales de autonomía de los estudiantes. De esta manera, la investigación reveló que el CMEI brinda un entorno propicio para el desarrollo de la autonomía de los estudiantes y cuando se vive esta autonomía, el estudiante tiene la propensión a desarrollarse de manera más considerable de manera integral.A pesquisa de cunho qualitativo consistiu num estudo de caso realizado em um Centro Municipal de Educação Infantil (CMEI) localizado em Natal/RN. Tendo como objetivo compreender as expressões de autonomia socioambientais manifestas no ambiente escolar da educação infantil através das atividades livres. Para consolidar os dados construídos foram realizados registros e observações da rotina escolar a fim de verificar as percepções e concepções das expressões de autonomia socioambientais dos estudantes.
