Resumo: In order to understand the ways of life and resistance of babassu coconut breakers from the Sítio community, in the municipality of Cristino Castro-PI (Brazil), the study was based on a qualitative methodology, with a participatory approach, based on techniques such as interviews, questionnaires, observation, dialogue circles, in person and at a distance. With six coconut breakers in the study, the CPT agent in the region and the researcher herself, who already worked in socio-educational practices with women. The analyzes were established in a critical-dialectic perspective. With this, we emphasize the condition of women, on the one hand, as guardians of socio-biodiversity, as promoters of a life-based economy and, on the other, as a collective threatened by agribusiness. In their daily resistance, they recreate themselves by affirming the value of the babassu forest for the reproduction of rural people and the importance of collective organization and training, implying the need for public sectors to guarantee their rights.

Con seis cocoteros en el estudio, el agente del CPT de la región y la propia investigadora, que ya trabajaba en prácticas socioeducativas con mujeres. Los análisis se establecieron en una perspectiva crítico-dialéctica. Con ello, destacamos la condición de las mujeres, por un lado, como guardianas de la sociobiodiversidad, como promotoras de una economía de vida y, por otro, como colectivo amenazado por la agroindustria. En su resistencia diaria, se recrean afirmando el valor del bosque de babasú para la reproducción de la población rural y la importancia de la organización y formación colectiva, lo que implica la necesidad de que los sectores públicos garanticen sus derechosPara compreender os modos de vida, educação e resistência das mulheres quebradeiras de coco babaçu da comunidade Sítio, situada no município de Cristino Castro-PI (Brasil), em uma região afetada pelo agronegócio, o estudo baseou-se em metodologia qualitativa, de abordagem participante, constituindo-se a partir de técnicas como entrevistas, questionários, observação, rodas de diálogo, presencialmente e a distância. Vozes de seis mulheres quebradeiras de coco, do agente da Comissão Pastoral da Terra (CPT) da região e da própria pesquisadora, que já atuava em práticas socioeducativas junto às mulheres, compõem o universo empírico da pesquisa. As análises foram estabelecidas em perspectiva crítica-dialética, permitindo-nos conhecer a condição das mulheres quebradeiras de coco em dois sentidos interconectados: de um lado, como guardiãs da socioagrobiodiversidade, promotoras de uma economia baseada na vida e atuantes como educadoras ambientais; de outro, elas como sujeitos coletivos em co-evolução com um ecossistema, ameaçados pelo agronegócio.
