Resumo: This paper presents partial results of research on the relationship between child-environment interaction among Brazilian indigenous societies. Bibliographical research, theses and dissertations, and articles from public universities in southeastern Brazil, statements from leaders and visits to indigenous settlements brought material for the analysis. Theoretical references were sought in non-hegemonic philosophies (SPINOZA, 2009), native epistemologies (KRENAK, 2019, 2020; SANTOS, 2015). The results reveal the importance of knowing and understanding the indigenous cultures, whose core is the search for vitality, the drive to experience life with the other and with the cosmos. The results presents the importance of knowing and understanding the original Brazilian cultures, whose core is the search for vitality, the drive to experience life with the other and with the cosmos. Our research pretends to learn from these societies the knowledge necessary for a balanced relationship between human beings and nature.
