PPGEA as a space for discussion and permanent education on the theme of the climate emergency

Resumo: The climate emergency (EC) puts humanity at risk, with alarming consequences on the most vulnerable groups bringing economic and social imbalances. This work arises from a collective academic exercise, in which it was analyzed how the teachers and students of the PPGEA perceive the issues of the EC in the university context, with the objective of constructing a proposal for action for the Program. To this end, a questionnaire of 18 questions was prepared and validated, answered by 18 students; 06 teachers; 01 administrative; and 04 graduates. The results showed the need to deepen the discussions on the subject starting from a complex and critical approach in the light of scientific and social advances and allowed the elaboration of a proposal that contemplates teaching, research, extension and management actions.
