EDUCATION AND TECHNOLOGY: the access of low-income students to learning during the pandemic

Resumo: | Education was one of the areas most impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, causing numerous consequences. In view of this, the present study deals with the difficulty in accessing remote classes by millions of Brazilian students in order to continue their learning during the period of social isolation. Therefore, the objective is to analyze the importance of the insertion of technological resources in the educational environment, consequently linking with the central question of the study: what are the dynamics of connection of students, considered socioeconomically vulnerable, to digital tools for participation and learning during the online classes. The theoretical review research seeks to dialogue with investigations carried out that directly address the problem. Low investment in education was found, and thus in the acquisition of technological resources for public institutions, being the sometimes the first space of knowledge for these individuals, providing essential digital literacy for the network society in which we are inserted. Therefore, when schools closed, there was a very high number of subjects who were far from remote teaching, due to impediments to acquiring digital instruments and due to the lack of knowledge of their effective use, thus showing that we are still permeated by inequality and digital exclusion. |

À vista disso, o presente estudo trata da dificuldade no acesso às aulas remotas por milhões de estudantes brasileiros a fim de continuar a sua aprendizagem durante o período de isolamento social. Portanto, objetiva-se analisar a importância da inserção de recursos tecnológicos no meio educacional, consequentemente vinculando-se com a questão central do estudo: quais são as dinâmicas de conexão dos discentes, considerados socioeconomicamente vulneráveis, às ferramentas digitais para a participação e aprendizagem durante as aulas on-line? A pesquisa de revisão teórica busca dialogar com investigações realizadas que abordam diretamente a problemática. Constatou-se o baixo investimento na educação, e assim na aquisição de recursos tecnológicos para as instituições públicas, sendo, por vezes, o primeiro espaço de conhecimento dessas ferramentas para esses indivíduos, propiciando a alfabetização digital essencial para a sociedade em rede em que estamos inseridos.
