Resumo: | Introduction: epidermoid urethral carcinoma, also called squamous cell or squamous cell carcinoma, is a rare neoplasm, it has a higher incidence in advanced ages and in males. Risk factors are strongly related to sexually transmitted infections, especially HPV, and recurrent urinary tract infections. Because it is a disease of difficult recognition in clinical practice, the diagnosis is made in advanced stages, often with the presence of metastases, lead to a worse prognosis. Objectives: to report the case of a patient with epidermoid urethral carcinoma. Methodology: it is a descriptive case report type study which data collection took place at the Hospital de Câncer de Pernambuco in Recife-PE. The study population is 01 patitent with epidermoid urethral neoplasm. Discussion: squamous cell carcinoma originates in the epithelium covering and its etiopathogenesis is associated with poor hygiene conditions and viral infections. The treatment of choice is a controversial issue in the literature, but the one that allows the greatest remission of the disease should be chosen, as in most cases, in the case described, tumor resection surgery was chosen, associated with adjuvant chemotherapy with cisplatin and paclitaxel, allowing the remission of metastatic disease and recovery your activities until the last contact, in December 2021. Conclusion: Because it is uncommon, it has divergences regarding its incidence, prevalence and better treatment to be instituted. Since the survival decreases over the years, it is important to perform adequate follow up to monitor the return or progress of the disease. |

Specialized Dentistry Group2024-01-18info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/128010.36557/2674-8169.2024v6n1p1429-1439Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 6 No. 1 (2024): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 1429-1439Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 6 Núm. 1 (2024): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 1429-1439Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 6 n. 1 (2024): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 1429-14392674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/1280/1463Copyright (c) 2024 Mariana Cunha Paes Bezerra, Marina Acioly Cavalcanti de Albuquerque , Luiza Maciel Yamamoto Revoredo , Laís Maciel Yamamoto Revorêdo , Mariana Acioly Cavalcanti de Albuquerque , Felipe Dubourcq de Barros , Francisco de Morais Lima Júnior https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess Bezerra, Mariana Cunha Paes Albuquerque , Marina Acioly Cavalcanti de Revoredo , Luiza Maciel YamamotoRevorêdo , Laís Maciel YamamotoAlbuquerque , Mariana Acioly Cavalcanti deBarros , Felipe Dubourcq de Júnior , Francisco de Morais Lima2024-01-18T22:06:55Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/1280Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2024-01-18T22:06:55Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false |
