Resumo: | Composite resins are the most widely used restorative materials today. Seeking to solve the problem of polymerization shrinkage and the reduction of the amount of increments in the insertion phase, resins called bulk-fill appeared on the market. Objective: Evaluate the clinical performance regarding the microleakage criterion of Bulk Fill resins, when compared to conventional composite resins. Methodology: PubMed, Scielo, Lilacs and other sources were used, with the following descriptors: Bulk Fill, microleakage. Articles were limited between 2016 and 2021 in English and Portuguese. In the Pubmed database there were 1,271 articles. In Scielo, 69 publications were found. In Lilacs, 153 publications were found. In total, 1,493 publications were found. Review works were excluded, those that were not related to the clinical performance of bulk fill resins, regarding microleakage, published before 2016. There are 19 articles selected for the research. Results: A total of 14 studies were included and reviewed. The studies showed that most authors compared the bulk fill resin mainly with conventional resins, demonstrating that the marginal sealing capacity of the materials is similar. Conclusion: According to many studies studied, it is concluded that, as for microleakage, Bulk Fill resins present clinical performance similar to conventional resins. However, when referring to the cervical walls of proximal boxes in class II cavities, microleakage is a frequent event for both Bulk Fill and conventional ones. |

Specialized Dentistry Group2023-08-04info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/38410.36557/2674-8169.2023v5n4p225-234Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 No. 4 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 225-234Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 Núm. 4 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 225-234Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 5 n. 4 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 225-2342674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/384/468Copyright (c) 2023 Lílian Gomes Soares Pires, Matheus Araújo Brito Santos Lopes , Giselle Maria Ferreira Lima Verde , Juliana Vasconcelos Brito, Letícia Paz Sabóia Bandeira https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess Pires, Lílian Gomes SoaresLopes , Matheus Araújo Brito SantosVerde , Giselle Maria Ferreira LimaBrito, Juliana VasconcelosBandeira , Letícia Paz Sabóia2023-08-04T12:59:24Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/384Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2023-08-04T12:59:24Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false |
