Resumo: Introduction: Bipolar disorder is characterized by a psychiatric condition known as radical changes in mood, in addition to the appearance of depressive episodes. Neurobiology highlights the dysregulation that affects neurotransmitters, such as serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine. Objective: Understand the behavior of neural processes and the relationship between their actions and emotional and mental aspects. Results: Some brain areas, such as the prefrontal cortex and hypothalamus, show changes in the levels of neurotransmitters, which are characterized as chemical substances that have the function of transmitting signals between neurons, thus allowing efficient and adequate communication of the system. nervous. Conclusions: It is clear that bipolar disorder ends up resulting in a process of neuroinflammation, which is directly related to the manifestation of the pathology, since many studies and research are being directed towards this to understand more clearly  complex interaction of these factors.

Specialized Dentistry Group2023-12-28info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/116610.36557/2674-8169.2023v5n5p6521-6546Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 No. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 6521-6546Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 Núm. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 6521-6546Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 5 n. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 6521-65462674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/1166/1329Copyright (c) 2023 Maria Paula Pereira Alves, Maria Alice Miranda Fortes, Pedro Henrique Gomes Sudário Lins, Matheus Barros Lisboa , Vanessa Iukari Fukushima, Saulo Barbosa Miossi, Luis Henrique Gomes Sudário Lins, Dinah Lopes Marques Luz, Larissa de Freitas Oliveira https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessAlves, Maria Paula PereiraFortes, Maria Alice MirandaLins, Pedro Henrique Gomes SudárioLisboa , Matheus BarrosFukushima, Vanessa IukariMiossi, Saulo BarbosaLins, Luis Henrique Gomes SudárioLuz, Dinah Lopes MarquesOliveira , Larissa de Freitas2023-12-28T20:24:41Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/1166Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2023-12-28T20:24:41Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false
