Resumo: The idealization of a standard of beauty using thin and muscular bodies as a reference has been imposed on society through social media, the tireless search for the perfect body makes individuals seek restrictive diets, which have become fashionable among digital influencers. The present study aims to evaluate adherence to intermittent fasting in physical exercise practitioners. This is an integrative review research, with a quantitative approach and the use of secondary data. The research was carried out in the period between December 2023 and March 2024, with a theoretical survey of relevant information being carried out in the main scientific publication databases. The bibliographic survey took place in the Virtual Health Library (VHL) databases and in its indexed bases such as Pubmed, LILACS (Latin American Literature in Health Sciences), Scielo (Scientific Electronic Library Online) and Google Scholar. According to research found in databases, intermittent fasting is the second most popular fad diet, with a prevalence of ≤ 83% according to the studies cited in this article. Therefore, there was a high level of adherence to intermittent fasting among those who exercise because these individuals are more concerned about their body image and, therefore, adhere more to fad diets.

Specialized Dentistry Group2024-04-13info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/193010.36557/2674-8169.2024v6n4p1399-1412Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 6 No. 4 (2024): BJIHS QUALIS B3 - IMPACT FACTOR SJIF 5.807; 1399-1412Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 6 Núm. 4 (2024): BJIHS QUALIS B3 - FATOR DE IMPACTO SJIF 5.807; 1399-1412Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 6 n. 4 (2024): BJIHS QUALIS B3 - FATOR DE IMPACTO SJIF 5.807; 1399-14122674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/1930/2139Copyright (c) 2024 Emilly Santana Fraga, Ênio Pereira Telles, Barbara Melo Santos do Nascimento, Ailton Santos Sena Júniorhttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessFraga, Emilly SantanaTelles, Ênio PereiraNascimento, Barbara Melo Santos do Júnior, Ailton Santos Sena2024-04-13T22:01:30Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/1930Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2024-04-13T22:01:30Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false
