Resumo: Introduction : Physiotherapeutic action in preventing falls in the elderly. Objective: know the importance of physiotherapy in falls of elderly people Methodology: The work will be approached through a narrative review, using appropriate publications where it will describe and discuss the development of the chosen theme, always from a theoretical perspective. Final considerations: the relevance of physiotherapy in the intervention of a multidisciplinary team, and the professionals who work in the treatment of these patients must not only understand the importance of falls, how we can prevent them, and the treatment they should seek if it occurs.

Objetivo: conhecer a importancia da fisioterpia em quedas de pessoas idiosas Metodologia: O trabalho será abordado através de revisão narrativa, utilizando publicações apropriadas onde descreverá e discutirá o desenvolvimento do tema escolhido, sempre numa perspectiva teórica Resultados: No que concerne ao quantitativo de pesquisa foram quantificados 458 artigos sobre o tema, utilizando as bases de dados Medline, Lilacs e Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde. Posteriormente foram excluídos 700 artigos, e onde os mesmos foram excluídos de acordo com parâmetro de exclusão adotados no presente trabalho. Através dos métodos de busca foram identificados 21 trabalhos que atendiam aos critérios de inclusão.
