Resumo: | Introduction: Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) manifests itself, for the most part, in childhood, therefore, there is a great effort by researchers to design a way to prevent autism, especially on interventions carried out during pregnancy. Therefore, the objective of the present study is to outline the way in which maternal vitamin D can prevent the occurrence of autism during fetal development, elucidating the effectiveness of preventing autism through maternal vitamin D supplementation. Methodology: Treats This was a systematic review with a time frame from 2015 to 2023, in the Pubmed, Scielo, Medline, Lilacs, Google Schoolar and Cochrane Library databases. After critical evaluation related to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 13 articles were selected and the systematic review was carried out according to the standards proposed by PRISMA. RESULTS: a significant number of VDRs were found in the cortex and hippocampus, regions strictly related to learning, memory and executive control. Lower maternal serum levels of 25-(OH)D, more specifically in the first trimester, are associated with a significantly increased risk of developing ASD in the offspring. Discussion: There is a need to standardize the bioanalytical determination methods used to assess vitamin D status and the neuropsychiatric assessment of study subjects in order to find a relationship between vitamin D deficiency and cognitive impairments. Conclusion: Most of the studies analyzed showed that maternal Vitamin D supplementation resulted in a reduction in the incidence of ASD in the offspring. |

Conclusion: Most of the studies analyzed showed that maternal Vitamin D supplementation resulted in a reduction in the incidence of ASD in the offspring. Specialized Dentistry Group2024-02-14info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/141810.36557/2674-8169.2024v6n2p1228-1242Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 6 No. 2 (2024): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 1228-1242Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 6 Núm. 2 (2024): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 1228-1242Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 6 n. 2 (2024): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 1228-12422674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/1418/1651Copyright (c) 2024 Káryta Lorrane Xavier Oliveira, Anne Pietra Cândida Silva, Dyulia Ferreira de Oliveira, Filipe de Oliveira Alcântara Paniago, Gloria Bernardi Torres, Isabella Rodrigues Lobo, Mabio Vigilato Vital, Maria Clara Rocha Andrade, Maria Eduarda Souza Godoy Freitas, Mariana Vasconcellos de Oliveira, Matheus Cardoso Silva , Rhaygner Dhieggo Amaralhttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessXavier Oliveira, Káryta LorraneCândida Silva, Anne PietraFerreira de Oliveira, DyuliaAlcântara Paniago, Filipe de OliveiraBernardi Torres, GloriaRodrigues Lobo, IsabellaVigilato Vital, MabioRocha Andrade, Maria ClaraSouza Godoy Freitas, Maria EduardaVasconcellos de Oliveira, MarianaCardoso Silva , MatheusDhieggo Amaral, Rhaygner2024-02-14T16:07:51Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/1418Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2024-02-14T16:07:51Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false |
