Multiprofessional health care for users with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis - ALS: an experience report

Within the scope of the Unified Health System, multiprofessional care constitutes a strong health care strategy, as it allows for greater resolution and security in the care offered to the user population. For this reason, the present work intends to expose the experience of a multidisciplinary team of residents in hospital health, with a user diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), admitted to the Medical Clinic of a university hospital, in the period october and november 2020. It is intended to present the advantages of teamwork to this specific public of the SUS, which have particular health needs. Methodologically, this is a descriptive-qualitative study, of the experience report type. In this sense, the information was obtained through the observations, perceptions and experiences of a Social Work Resident of the Multiprofessional Integrated Residency Program in hospital health at the Lauro Wanderley University Hospital of the Federal University of Paraíba. The results of this study showed that the interventions carried out by the team of residents were conducted respecting the uniqueness of the health context of the user with ALS, so that they offered a more personalized and humanized care. It is expected that the knowledge obtained will be shared and discussed among the residents, in order to favor the process of in-service training and qualify the health care offered to the population with ALS using the SUS.
