The perception of professors in the health area after immersion in the context of social responsibility and minorities: An experience report

In this article, we intend to raise reflections on the discussion of social responsibility in health education taking into account minorities, such as LGBTQIA+ populations, traditional populations and the physically disabled. This whole theme was discussed based on interprofessionality. For this, an experience report was made on the perception of professors in the health area after participation in a discipline on Health Education in the Amazon and Social Responsibility, with the participation of health professionals, with diverse areas of activity (medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, psychology, dentistry), being held at the University of the State of Pará, October 2022. Based on the critical observation of the demands raised during the course, the experience allowed to know the peculiarities of the groups discussed and the need to take this theme to teaching in medical graduation, with the planning of making it part of the pedagogical political project of the medical course as a mandatory module, contributing to a better training of the medical professional. In addition, to encourage the academic community to carry out extension projects that cover minorities, contributing to the growth of the social role of HEIs.
