El análisis de los recuerdos producidos por el padre del santo se realizó desde la perspectiva de la construcción del proceso de fundación de la umbanda y la ciudad de Sobral / CE, como veremos más adelante.Ao estudar a umbanda em Sobral, percebe-se que a figura do Pai de Santo “Zé Maria Mulher” se faz presente nas memórias de muitos umbandistas e pesquisadores da religião, oferecendo uma representatividade e resistência de grande importância para a popularidade da umbanda nesta cidade.
