Resumo: In the 2016 arbovirus epidemic in Brazil, studies found that the occurrence of Zika virus infection during pregnancy was associated with the birth of children with microcephaly. This study sought to verify how multidisciplinary clinical evaluations were performed in children born with microcephaly associated with Zika virus infection in Primary Care. This is a descriptive, documentary study of two cases of children born with this anomaly, whose mothers had positive serology for viremia during pregnancy, in the state of Ceará, Northeast Brazil. Information was collected in 2017 by means of medical records made by a team from the Family Health Support Center. The results were presented in synoptic tables, divided into information about prenatal care of the mother and neonates by the multidisciplinary team. Results showed that the mothers had Zika virus by laboratory confirmation. The children presented brain anatomical deformities compatible with the diagnosis of microcephaly. The anomaly caused neuropsychomotor sequelae, which interfered with breastfeeding, visual and auditory perception, compromising the newborns’ normal growth. In conclusion, failures in the prenatal care of the mothers may have interfered with the birth outcome, leading to consequences for the neonatal period of the babies evaluated.
