Makerspace: uma alternativa dinâmica para o desenvolvimento de projetos

Resumo: | Nowadays, in the mechanical engineering course of the IFAM, there are conflicts around the teaching-learning processes, which are based on theoretical content and embedded laboratory practices, misaligned with contemporary accessible technologies. This condition is a factor impeding the intellectual development of teaching and extension institutions. In view of this problem, the opportunity arises to study the makerspaces, seeking to understand their characteristics and advantages of application to teaching. This work will present concepts of the maker culture and the makerspaces, also showing the period that preceded the emergence of this movement and the philosophies on which these concepts are based. Makerspaces are digital manufacturing labs that have a variety of equipment to support students who want to develop some academic activity. These devices offer students an extensive range of application possibilities. A comparison will be made of digital manufacturing, custom production, versus traditional manufacturing, production in large quantities, illustrating the advantages and disadvantages of each manufacturing model. Finally, the possible applications of the makerspace in education and the methodologies and concepts of education that are derived from the principles of the movement maker will be exposed. All that was exposed was developed based on bibliographical revisions, where the results found allow to apply these concepts to our reality and serve as a model for further studies on the subject. This work is relevant because it seeks an integration between theoretical and practical activities, making learning more effective and generating professionals more prepared for the job market. |

This work is relevant because it seeks an integration between theoretical and practical activities, making learning more effective and generating professionals more prepared for the job market.Atualmente, no curso de engenharia mecânica do IFAM, existem conflitos em torno dos processos de ensino-aprendizagem, os quais são pautados em conteúdo teórico e práticas laboratoriais engessadas, desalinhadas com as tecnologias contemporâneas acessíveis. Tal condição consiste num fator de impedimento ao desenvolvimento intelectual das instituições de ensino e extensão. Tendo em vista essa problemática, surge a oportunidade de estudarmos os makerspaces, buscando entender suas características e vantagens de aplicação ao ensino. Este trabalho irá apresentar conceitos da cultura maker e dos makerspaces, mostrando também o período que antecedeu o surgimento deste movimento e as filosofias nas quais se baseiam estes conceitos. Os Makerspaces são laboratórios de fabricação digital que possuem diversos equipamentos para oferecer suporte aos alunos que queiram desenvolver alguma atividade acadêmica. Estes equipamentos oferecem aos alunos uma extensa gama de possibilidades de aplicações. Será feito um comparativo da fabricação digital, produção personalizada, frente à fabricação tradicional, produção em grandes quantidades, ilustrando as vantagens e desvantagens de cada modelo de fabricação. Para finalizar, serão expostas as possíveis aplicações do makerspace na educação e as metodologias e conceitos de educação que são derivados dos princípios do movimento maker. Tudo o que foi exposto foi desenvolvido com base em revisões bibliográficas, onde os resultados encontrados permitam aplicar estes conceitos à nossa realidade e sirvam de modelo para novos estudos mais aprofundados sobre o assunto.
