Suggestions for approaching topics related to Human Sexuality in the early years of elementary school

Resumo: This article aims to present suggestions for didactic approaches to topics related to human sexuality in the early years of elementary school. Such educational material comes from the professional master's research that dealt with human sexuality from the perspective of scientific literacy in the early years of elementary school and which analyzed how teachers develop the theme human sexuality in the early years and mobilize new teaching perceptions on this theme to from training processes in the context of action. Sexuality is assumed as a contemporary and comprehensive concept under the biological, social, emotional, cultural and religious dimensions of the individual (OLIVEIRA, 2009) and scientific literacy as practices that involve knowledge about science and technology and its use in everyday life (SANTOS, 2009). 2007). The educational product generated took the form of training material containing suggestions for dealing with the theme at hand and was elaborated from pedagogical training meetings and a workshop held in three stages, in a public school in the city of Belém-Pará. As a result, six didactic sequences were produced to address issues related to human sexuality in the early years of Elementary School that are presented here. The production process of these sequences point to aspects of scientific literacy that are desirable to the teaching action, and that there are ways to promote adequate training in the field of human sexuality for teachers, which is possible with formative moments and fostering scientific literacy in the classroom, favoring them the leading role and the ability to expand their training and teaching experiences

Tal material educacional é oriundo da pesquisa de mestrado profissional que tratou da Sexualidade humana na perspectiva do letramento científico nos anos iniciais do ensino fundamental e que analisou de que forma professores desenvolvem o tema sexualidade humana nos anos iniciais e mobilizam novas percepções docentes sobre essa temática a partir de processos formativos no contexto de atuação. A sexualidade é assumida como uma concepção contemporânea e abrangente sob as dimensões biológica, social, emocional, cultural e religiosa do indivíduo (OLIVEIRA, 2009) e o letramento científico como práticas que envolvem conhecimentos sobre ciência e tecnologia e seu emprego no cotidiano (SANTOS, 2007). O produto educacional gerado assumiu a forma de material de formação contendo sugestões para tratar a temática em tela e foi elaborado a partir de encontros de formação pedagógica e de uma oficina realizada em três etapas, numa escola pública da cidade de Belém-Pará. Como resultado foi produzido seis sequências didáticas para tratar de temas relativos à sexualidade humana nos anos iniciais do Ensino Fundamental que são aqui apresentadas.
