Resumo: | This work starts from the concerns about the processes that are related to the illness of the worker in contemporary times and its relations with professional and technological qualification integrated to high school. The general objective by which the work is oriented aims to analyze the contribution of health knowledge in an expanded perspective for students of a technical course integrated with high school. The investigation was carried out with students of the 2nd year of the technical course in chemistry integrated to high school at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Espírito Santo (IFES), Aracruz campus. It was guided by a qualitative approach and inspired by participant research, having as a means of collecting and producing data a complementary course to teaching about health from an expanded perspective. The results showed that students did not establish a relationship between changes in the world of work and the illness of the worker. On the other hand, the subject approached in an expanded perspective allows for a more critical appropriation on their part. Due to the fact that students affirm that this knowledge helps them to prepare for the “labor market” and to protect themselves and their neighbors and, even if they cannot reach broader interventions in the work processes, the fact that they develop a more critical perception of what affects them personally, already gives them conditions to at least not accept for themselves something that harms them. |

O objetivo geral pelo qual o trabalho se orienta visa analisar a contribuição dos conhecimentos em saúde sob uma perspectiva ampliada para alunos de um curso técnico integrado ao ensino médio. A investigação foi realizada com estudantes do 2º ano do curso técnico em química integrado ao ensino médio do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Espírito Santo (IFES), campus Aracruz. Foi orientada por uma abordagem qualitativa e inspirada na pesquisa participante, tendo como meio de coleta e produção de dados um curso de complementação ao ensino sobre o tema saúde sob uma perspectiva ampliada. Os resultados demonstraram que os estudantes não estabeleceram uma relação entre as mudanças no mundo do trabalho e o adoecimento do trabalhador. Por outro lado, o tema abordado em uma perspectiva ampliada permite uma apropriação mais crítica da parte deles.
