Resumo: This work aims to present an overview of the literature on the training of teachers of professional education, contributing to identify entrenched attitudes and reveal research opportunities. The methodology employed is the systematic narrative review of publications indexed by the Scielo database. It is revealed that a formalistic and legal definition of professional education prevails, an intense theoretical isolation in relation to higher education studies and public policies and a speculative favoring of the pedagogical training of teachers in professional education. It is suggested that greater bibliographic breadth and use of evidence may be essential to enliven research in the training of teachers for professional education.

A metodologia empregada é a revisão sistemática narrativa de publicações indexadas pela base de dados Scielo. Revela-se que predomina uma definição formalista e jurídica de educação profissional, um intenso isolamento teórico em relação aos estudos de educação superior e políticas públicas e um favorecimento especulativo da formação pedagógica dos professores da educação profissional.
