Resumo: This study aims to discuss that knowledge have been identified as necessary to teacher training for teaching under the Vocational and Technological Education (VTE). For discussions were the main references of the investigations Mancebo (2011), Moura (2008), Manfredi (2002) and Machado(2002), which show that the VTEdeals with specific knowledge that must be addressed in teacher training, in view of the specific characteristics of modality. The study was divided into two sections: the first deals with the national panorama of teacher education for Professional Education and Technology; the second addresses the knowledgefor teaching this education. The study results point allowed some knowledge as necessary for VTE; and consider that it is not possible to list such knowledge as if they were tight, but presenting it as a possibility for reflection and study to deepen

Para as discussões foram utilizados com referências principais os estudos de Mancebo (2011), Moura (2008), Manfredi (2002) e Machado (2002).Tais estudos mostraram que a EPT lida com saberes específicos que precisam ser tratados na formação de professores, tendo em vista o ensino nesta modalidade.O estudo foi organizado em duas seções: a primeira trata do panorama nacional da formação de professores para a Educação Profissional e Tecnológica; a segunda aborda os saberes para a docência nesta educação.
