The study of types and textual genres and their contributions to the process of teacher training

Resumo: The aim of the present study was to contribute to the graduate training program of the students of the Pedagogy Course of the Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense (UENF). For that purpose, mini-courses were carried out, addressing the theme "Types and Textual Genres", combining theory and practice during content exposition. The theoretical basis was the assumptions of Textual Linguistics. For data collection and analysis, questionnaires were applied before and after the mini-courses, in order to evaluate and compare the knowledge of the participants about the proposed theme. The mini-courses were carried out for students from different periods of the Pedagogy Course, but all of the mini-courses addressed the same didactic content. It is worth mentioning that the participants entered higher education in different ways: the first group, hereinafter referred to as Pedagogy, entered through SISU - Unified Selection System; the second group, referred to as PARFOR, has entered higher education through the National Teacher Training Plan (PARFOR). Regarding the performance of the classes, it was noticed that the students from the Pedagogy group demonstrated better understanding of the content compared to the students of PARFOR group, which caused some astonishment since PARFOR representatives are already education professionals. It is understood, therefore, that this work contributed to a re-evaluation of current pedagogical practices in the training process of these professionals.

Con este fin, se realizaron cursos cortos sobre el tema "tipos y géneros textuales", uniendo teoría y práctica durante la exhibición de contenido. La base teórica se basó en los supuestos de la lingüística textual. Para la recopilación y análisis de datos, se aplicaron cuestionarios antes y después de los cursos cortos, con el objetivo de establecer una comparación del conocimiento de los participantes sobre el tema propuesto. Los cursos cortos se llevaron a cabo con estudiantes de diferentes períodos del curso de Pedagogía, pero todos cubrieron el mismo contenido didáctico, y es notable que los participantes ingresaron a la educación superior de diferentes maneras: el primer grupo, en adelante llamado Pedagogía, ingresó a la educación superior de dicha institución a través del Sistema de Selección Unificado (SISU); mientras que el segundo grupo, en adelante denominado PARFOR, ingresó a la educación superior a través del Plan Nacional de Formación Docente (PARFOR). Con respecto al desempeño de las clases, se observó que los graduados en Pedagogía demostraron un dominio más significativo del contenido que los que asisten a PARFOR, a pesar de que ya son profesionales activos en el aula. Por lo tanto, se entiende que este trabajo contribuyó a una reevaluación de las prácticas pedagógicas actuales en el proceso formativo de estos profesionales.Este trabalho teve como objetivo contribuir com o processo de formação dos licenciandos do Curso de Pedagogia da Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense (UENF). Para tanto foram realizados minicursos abordando a temática “tipos e gêneros textuais”, unindo teoria e prática durante a exposição do conteúdo. A fundamentação teórica foi realizada com base nos pressupostos da Linguística Textual. Para coleta e análise dos dados foram aplicados questionários antes e depois dos minicursos, visando estabelecer uma comparação do conhecimento dos participantes a respeito da temática proposta. Os minicursos foram realizados com os alunos de diferentes períodos do curso de Pedagogia, mas todos contemplavam o mesmo conteúdo didático, e vale ressaltar que os participantes ingressaram no ensino superior por diferentes maneiras: o primeiro grupo, doravante denominado por Pedagogia, ingressou no ensino superior da referida instituição através do Sistema de Seleção Unificada (SISU); já o segundo grupo, doravante denominado PARFOR, ingressou no ensino superior através do Plano Nacional de Formação de Professores (PARFOR). Em relação ao desempenho das turmas, percebeu-se que os licenciandos em Pedagogia demonstraram um domínio mais significativo do conteúdo do que daqueles que cursam o PARFOR, apesar de estes serem profissionais já atuantes em sala de aula.
