Popular knowledge and memories of Brazilian female students in Young and Adult Education at a rural school: connections with the Ethnomathematics

Resumo: Life trajectory of “Brasiguaia” female students in the rural areas has relevant characteristics that can contribute, depending on the pedagogical teaching process, to the promotion of teaching and learning, considering their intercultural relations that converge in a favorable way to the empirical and scientific dialogue. Thus, based on life history, the main purpose of the article is to reflect on the memories of the Brazilian women enrolled in Youth and Adult Education (EJA in Portuguese) at a State Rural School, and the possible interfaces with the mathematical pedagogical use of that knowledge in the classroom. We proposed research questions that could establish connections between Youth and Adult Education, the life history of “Brasiguaia” students and ethnomathematics. We intend, therefore, to initiate a reflection on the theoretical and practical fertility of these discussion themes.

En este sentido, la propuesta central del artículo es traer reflexiones sobre las memorias basadas en historias de vida de las mujeres brasiguayas de la Educación de Jóvenes y Adultos (EJA) de una Escuela Estatal del Campo y las posibles interfaces con la utilización matemática pedagógica de esos conocimientos en el aula. Propusimos cuestiones de investigación que pudieran promover conexiones entre la educación de jóvenes y adultos, la historia de vida de alumnas brasiguayas y la etnomatemática. Pretendemos, así, iniciar una reflexión sobre la fertilidad teórica y práctica de este encuentro temático.A trajetória de vida das alunas brasiguaias do campo possui marcas relevantes que podem contribuir, dependendo do processo pedagógico docente, para a promoção de ensino e aprendizagem, tendo em vista suas relações interculturais que convergem de forma propícia ao diálogo empírico e científico. Nesse sentido, a proposta central do artigo é trazer reflexões sobre as memórias baseadas em histórias de vida das mulheres brasiguaias da Educação de Jovens e Adultos (EJA) de uma Escola Estadual do Campo e as possíveis interfaces com a utilização matemática pedagógica desses conhecimentos em sala de aula. Propusemos questões de pesquisa que pudessem promover conexões entre a educação de jovens e adultos, a história de vida de alunas brasiguaias e a etnomatemática.
