Experimental investigation of a body movement on trajectories with different profiles: inclined line, parabola and cycloid

Resumo: This study was conducted under the Research Teaching methodology, based on the assumptions of the Theory of Meaningful Learning. Our objective was to investigate the effectiveness of using a simple experiment to aid the teaching-learning of concepts and magnitudes in Newtonian mechanics. The experimental practice allowed not only the observation of the phenomenon, but also the acquisition of data with the aid of the Lexis Audio Editor mobile application. The interdisciplinarity between Physics and Mathematics was present when designing an apparatus in which these familiar geometric shapes were used: line, parabola and cycloid. The product was applied to a class in the 1st year of a public High School in the city of Rio de Janeiro. It was observed that the activity enabled conceptual change, allowing students to reconstruct and expand their learning. They also developed experimental skills considered to be quite relevant to basic training in formal education.

Nuestro objetivo fue investigar la efectividad del uso de un experimento simple para ayudar a la enseñanza-aprendizaje de conceptos y magnitudes de la mecánica newtoniana. La práctica experimental permitió no solo la observación del fenómeno, sino también la adquisición de datos con la ayuda de la aplicación móvil Lexis Audio Editor. La interdisciplinariedad entre Física y Matemáticas estuvo presente al diseñar un aparato cuyos caminos tienen formas geométricas conocidas: recta, parábola y cicloide. El producto se aplicó a una clase del primer año de secundaria en la red pública estatal de la ciudad de Río de Janeiro. Se observó que la actividad permitió un cambio conceptual que llevó a los estudiantes a reconstruir y ampliar su aprendizaje. También desarrollaron habilidades experimentales, que son tan relevantes para la formación básica de la educación formal.Este trabalho foi desenvolvido sob a metodologia de Ensino por Investigação tomando por base os pressupostos da Teoria da Aprendizagem Significativa. Nosso objetivo foi investigar a eficácia do uso de um experimento simples no auxílio do ensino-aprendizagem de conceitos e grandezas da mecânica newtoniana. A prática experimental permitiu não somente a observação do fenômeno como também a aquisição de dados com auxílio do aplicativo de celular Lexis Audio Editor. A interdisciplinaridade entre a Física e a Matemática se fez presente ao projetarmos um aparato cujas vias são em formas geométricas conhecidas: reta, parábola e cicloide. O produto foi aplicado a uma turma do 1o ano do ensino médio da rede pública estadual da cidade do Rio de Janeiro. Foi observado que a atividade possibilitou mudança conceitual levando os estudantes a reconstrução e ampliação de suas aprendizagens.
