THE RELEVANCE OF TEACHING PAIN IN HIGH SCHOOL: AN ANALYSIS OF BIOLOGY TEXTBOOKS SELECTED BY PNLD/2018

Resumo: The present study is based on research that investigates evidence-based teaching of pain in high school. The changes proposed by the International Association for the Study of Pain and in a mixed methods review published in 2022 in the BJPT – guided this study. The objective of the research was to verify the importance of the pain theme addressed in high school textbooks. Therefore, a qualitative methodology was used, undertaking a descriptive study of Biology textbooks indicated by the National Textbook Program for a High School. The analysis considered the absence of a topic, concluding the need to create a didactic form for teaching pain in classrooms, seeking paradigm shifts and implementation of new concepts on the subject for the dissemination of the biopsychosocial model in the education of adolescents, promoting current tools for a broader condition of health care.

Los câmbios propuestos por la Asociación Internacional para el Estudio del Dolor y em uma revisión de métodos mixtos publicada em 2022 em el BJPT guiaron este etudio. El objetivo de la investigación fue verificar la importância do tema del dolor abordado em los libros de texto de la enseñanza media. Por lo tanto, se utilizó uma metodologia cualitativa, realilzando um estúdio descriptivo de los libros de texto de Biologia indicados por el Programa Nacional de Libros de Texto para la Enseñanza Media. El análisis consideró la ausência del tema, concluyendo la necessidade de crear uma forma didáctica para la enseñanza del dlor em las aulas, buscando câmbios de paradigma e implementación de nuevos conceptos sobre el tema para la difusión del modelo biopsicossocial em la educación de los adolescentes, promoviendo herrramientas acutales para uma condición más amplia de atención de la salud.O presente estudo baseia-se em uma pesquisa que investiga o ensino da dor baseado em evidências no Ensino Médio, nas mudanças propostas pela International Association for the Study of Pain e numa revisão de métodos mistos publicada em 2022, no BJPT - nortearam esse estudo. O objetivo da pesquisa foi verificar a importância do tema dor abordado em livros didáticos do Ensino Médio. Sendo assim, lançou-se mão de metodologia de cunho qualitativo, empreendendo-se um estudo descritivo dos livros didáticos de Biologia indicados pelo Programa Nacional do Livro Didático para o Ensino Médio.
