Resumo: This article is the result of an evaluation work carried out in 1st year classes of integrated MS of the Federal Institute of Mato Grosso, Primavera do Leste campus. This work is related to the discipline of geography, specifically on the content of water resources. With the objective of consolidating the knowledge built in the classroom, students were offered a work that involved field research. The students visited the waterways to identify the source, find out if it is a perennial or intermittent stream, and finally identify its mouth. The result went far beyond reports containing the multiple views on the same city, since the discovery of such nearby urban streams gave rise to a greater interest in the subject.

Este trabalho é referente à disciplina de geografia, especificamente sobre o conteúdo de recursos hídricos. Com o objetivo de consolidar o conhecimento construído em sala de aula, foi proposto aos estudantes um trabalho que envolveu pesquisa em campo. Os estudantes visitaram os cursos d’água para identificar a nascente, descobrir se é um córrego perene ou intermitente e, por fim, identificar sua foz.
