This article presents the experience report of the teaching project “Integrating, Learning, Growing: study planning and professional development workshops at the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina - Tubarão campus”, composed of a set of workshops that aim to increase the permanence and students' success, as well as the fight against dropout and retention, by increasing the effectiveness of study time and professional guidance. The project was planned and executed from July to December 2018. In this sense, two dimensions were worked on by the workshops: the first concerns the methods, techniques and tools used by students in their study times. The second refers to professional preparation, demonstrating the relationship between academic and professional performance. The integration of themes is necessary in the sense of the complexity of dealing with evasion and retention, through the involvement of the internal and external community of the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina - Tubarão campus. At the end of the project, it is concluded that the objectives were achieved and approximately 120 students were met in the activities performed.
