Knowledge and Appreciation of Indigenous Cultures in Basic Education Based on Action Research in the Teaching of History: an Experience in the Interdisciplinary PIBID

Resumo: Abstract: This study presents results of a pedagogical action developed within the scope of PIBID - Interdisciplinary Training for Diversity Subproject: Linguistic Education, Education for Cultural Diversity and Environmental Education in undergraduate courses (Literature and Pedagogy) in the context of the Mato Grosso's Amazon. The interaction activity took place in a municipal public school, in the city of Sinop, in the History teaching subject, in which the pedagogical action of the teacher, the research fellows, and the children was developed, with the purpose of getting to know and valuing the Mato Grosso’s indigenous cultures, which have been little addressed. The activities followed educational action research, as methodology. The results point out that active participation in the action-research process changes the teaching-learning process, brings students together and connects them (both from university and basic education) to cultural diversity in context. In conclusion, it is clear that in the necessary exercise of seeking knowledge of the reality of indigenous cultural diversity, the gaps in history textbooks and in the training of undergraduate students regarding the perception of regional indigenous cultural diversity were overcome. Indigenous Cultures.Resumo: O estudo apresenta resultados de uma ação pedagógica desenvolvida no âmbito do PIBID - Subprojeto Interdisciplinar Formação para a Diversidade: Educação Linguística, Educação para a Diversidade Cultural e Educação Ambiental nas licenciaturas (Letras e Pedagogia) no contexto da Amazônia mato-grossense. A atividade de interação ocorreu em uma escola pública municipal, na cidade de Sinop, na disciplina de ensino de História, na qual se desenvolveu a ação pedagógica da docente, dos bolsistas e das crianças, com a finalidade de conhecer e valorizar as culturas indígenas mato-grossenses, pouco abordadas. Como metodologia, as atividades seguiram a pesquisa-ação educativa. Os resultados apontam que a participação ativa no processo de pesquisa-ação altera o processo de ensino-aprendizagem, aproxima e conecta os estudantes (tanto da universidade quanto da Educação Básica) com a realidade da diversidade cultural presente no contexto. Como conclusão tem-se que, no exercício necessário de busca de conhecimento da realidade da diversidade cultural indígena, foram superadas as lacunas dos livros didáticos no ensino de História e na própria formação dos licenciandos no tocante à percepção da diversidade cultural indígena existente regionalmente.
